Before jumping into this weeks post, the Bills and Brew Babes want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year. 2020 has been a weird year filled with so many surprises, but we truly wish that 2021 is filled with happiness, joy, and beer!
And a Bills Super Bowl win?!
This week we’re talking about a brewery in Victor, NY called the Stumblin Monkey. This brewery is off the beaten path a bit, which is fine by babes who grew up off the beaten path. The brewery has a smaller tasting room but had a great variety of beers. We stopped up in for a pre-dinner drink, which you already know were two IPAS. (I can’t remember which ones, I know I’m sorry.) We liked both IPAs and let me tell you, they were both strong. In fact, Liz and I both agreed that this brewery had some higher than average percentages. (No complaints from us.)
So quick story time! When we first decided to launch this beer blogging adventure, I put together a huge list of breweries in Western New York to try. I was so excited to hear of Stumblin Monkey mostly because of it’s name. Liz and I grew up in a small farming town where there was a bar called the Stumblin Inn. Not only it was a townie dive bar, it was a historic site in town. Literally, it was one of the oldest buildings in our little town. Sadly, the establishment burnt down a few years ago leaving a whole both in the hearts of our citizens and right on Main Street. Although the Stumblin Monkey was MUCH classier than the Stumblin Inn, it made us smile to look back on those times.
