Five & 20 Spirits and Brewing

Location: Westfield, NY

This week we’re heading south of Buffalo to Five & 20 Spirits and Brewing. This brewery/distillery/winery combo is in Westfield on Route 20. When we arrived, we were surprised not only by the location but the venue. It’s off the beaten path but also feels very fancy.

The three of us ordered flights and expanded past beer to include some spirits and wine too. The flights were true tasting sizes so you really only got a sip or two of each thing. (Makes sense with liquor but hard to tell with beer/wine.) We also ordered some cheese, crackers, and pepperoni that came pre-packaged… weird. Is this just because of Covid?

Overall, we weren’t impressed. Although the tasting menu was extensive, it felt like there were competing vibes at Five & 20. It felt fancy but then the food was packaged like it was purchased from a supermarket. The venue was big and pretty but we got shoved in front of a window. Our waitress was nice but everyone else there was really unfriendly. We’re on the fence about trying it again, so we want to hear your opinions. Have you been to Five & 20?
